On this page we will be documenting the progress and building of our new Station 3
Check here often as we will be posting pictures and progress reports of the building process!
(Please be patient as it may take a moment to download all of the pictures!)
This is a picture of our new truck, Engine 23 which is now in service at our temporary Station 3, picture was taken while the finishing touches were being done at E-One in Ocala.
This is a picture of Shift personnel placing the sign on the property where the new Station 3 will be built.
A sign of progress! Lodge Construction delivered their mobile office to the site at the end of September.
On the same day Lodge Construction added their sign to ours out at the street in front of our property. Lodge Construction won the bid and have been contracted to build the new station. We are excited to have them on board as they have built many other stations in the area and we were impressed with their work.
On September 25th the explorers got a chance to do some live fire training as they helped burn a pile of brush in the middle of the property as well as doing some strip burning to help clear the lot.
The first of many training evolutions to come at the new station!
Ground breaking is scheduled for the second week in October, soon this site will be full of activity!
It's official! October 5th, ground breaking ceremonies were held at the property. Pictured above are from left to right; past Commissioner Larry Rhoda, Commissioner John Cammick, Chief Bradley, Commissioner Ken Cox, Commissioner Jim Cole, Commissioner John Peckinpaugh, Commissioner Bob Elder and past Commissioner Elsie Stearns.
Construction should commence on October 25th with a projected completion date of August 2008.

Construction has been going well on Station 3 as you can see, this is a picture taken from the parking lot near Stringfellow Rd.

This is the interior of the Station taken from the "dayroom" looking into the kitchen.

This is standing between the kitchen and the dayroom looking down the hall.

We also have been building an addition to the bays at Station 1 at the same time as the construction of Station 3; here is a picture of what the outside of the bay expansion looks like.
As you can see, in this picture the paint has just been finished, this is actually the primer the final coat is more of a grey that matches the rest of the station.

This is standing in the new bay expansion before the wall separating the old bays with the new had been taken down.

Inside the new bay expansion looking East; the room to the far left is the new weight room, then next to it is the new storage room which was needed badly. The next room is a bathroom/decon room, you can't see it in this picture however there is a utility room next to the decon room also.

Looking from the existing bays into the new expansion just after the wall separating the two was taken down revealing our new large bay area; we will now be able to store all of the apparatus including EMS's Ambulance inside!
